The mode of action of chitosan
1. Chitosan is mixed with crop seeds or used as a coating agent for seed soaking;
2. as a spraying agent for crop foliage;
3. As a bacteriostatic agent to inhibit pathogens and pests;
4. as a soil amendment or fertilizer additive;
5. Food or traditional Chinese medicine preservatives.
Specific application examples of chitosan in agriculture
(1) Seed immersion
Dips can be used on field crops as well as vegetables, for example,
Corn: Provide 0.1% concentration of chitosan solution, and add 1 times of water when using, that is, the concentration of diluted chitosan is 0.05%, which can be used for corn immersion.
Cucumber: Provide 1% concentration of chitosan solution, add 5.7 times of water when using, that is, the diluted chitosan concentration is 0.15% can be used for cucumber seed soaking.
(2) Coating
Coating can be used for field crops as well as vegetables
Soybean: Provide a 1% concentration of chitosan solution and spray the soybean seeds directly with it, stirring while spraying.
Chinese cabbage: Provide 1% concentration of chitosan solution, directly used to spray Chinese cabbage seeds, stirring while spraying to make it uniform. Each 100ml chitosan solution (i.e., each gram of chitosan) can treat 1.67KG of cabbage seeds.
