There were 556 pesticides used to control thrips in China, and many ingredients such as metretinate and thiamethoxam were registered

Thrips (thistles) are insects that feed on plant SAP and belong to the insect-class Thysoptera in animal taxonomy. The harm range of thrips is very wide, open crops, greenhouse crops are harmful, the main types of harm in melons, fruits and vegetables are melon thrips, onion thrips, rice thrips, west flower thrips and so on. Thrips often prey on flowers in full bloom, causing the victim flowers or buds to fall off in advance, resulting in malformed fruit and affecting the fruit setting rate. The same damage will occur in the young fruit period, and once it enters the high incidence period, the difficulty of prevention and control gradually increases, so attention should be paid to observation, and timely prevention and control should be found.

According to the China Pesticide Information Network, a total of 556 pesticides have been registered for the prevention and control of Thistle horse in China, including 402 single doses and 154 mixed preparations.

Among the 556 registered products for the control of thrips, the most registered products were metretinate and thiamethoxam, followed by acetamidine, docomycin, butathiocarb, imidacloprid, etc., and other ingredients were also registered in small amounts.

Among the 154 mixed agents for controlling thrips, the products containing thiamethoxam (58) accounted for the most, followed by fenacil, fluridamide, phenacetocyclozole, imidacloprid, bifenthrin, and zolidamide, and a small number of other ingredients were also registered.

The 556 products involved 12 kinds of dosage forms, among which the number of suspension agents was the largest, followed by micro-emulsion, water dispersion granule, emulsion, seed treatment suspension agent, suspended seed coating agent, soluble agent, seed treatment dry powder agent, etc.
