Diazinon (IUPAC name: O,O-Diethyl O-[4-methyl-6-(propan-2-yl)pyrimidin-2-yl] phosphorothioate, INN – Dimpylate),is a colorless to dark brown liquid.It is a nonsystemic organophosphate Insecticide formerly used to control cockroaches, silverfish, ants, and fleas in residential, non-food buildings. Diazinon was heavily used for general-purpose gardening use and indoor pest control.Diazinon is a contact insecticide,it can comtrol insects by altering normal neurotransmission.
Usage
It belongs to the category of non endothermic broad-spectrum insecticides with certain acaricidal and nematicidal activities. Widely used in rice, corn, sugarcane, tobacco, fruit trees, vegetables, pastures, flowers, forests, and greenhouses to control various irritating and leaf-eating pests. It is also used in soil to prevent underground pests and nematodes, and can also be used to prevent external parasites of livestock and household pests such as flies and cockroaches.
Using Methods
1. To control rice borers and rice leafhoppers, use 50% emulsifiable concentrate 15 ~ 30g/100m2 and 7.5kg water spray, prevention effect 90%~100%
2. To control cotton aphids, cotton red bee spiders, cotton thrips and cotton leafhoppers, 50% emulsifiable concentrate 7.5 ~ 12mL/100m2 is used to evenly spray water, and the control effect is 92% ~ 97%.
3. To prevent and control underground pests such as the North China mole cricket and the North China giant beetle, use 75mL of 50% emulsifiable oil, 3.75kg of water, mix 45kg of seeds, and press for 7 hours to sow. Alternatively, mix 37kg of wheat seeds, wait for the seeds to absorb the liquid and let it dry slightly before sowing.
4. To control cabbage worm and cabbage aphid, use 50% emulsifiable concentrate 6 ~ 7.5mL/100m2 and water 6 ~ 7.5kg to evenly spray.
5. To control the scallion leaf miner, bean seed fly and rice gall midge, use 50% emulsifiable concentrates 7.5~15mL/100m2 and 7.5~15kg water to evenly spray.
6. To prevent and control large black grubs, apply 2% granules at a rate of 0.19kg/100m2. Be careful not to mix it with copper containing fungicides and barnyard grass.
